Olympic Village Vancouver Real Estate

The False Creek neighbourhood specialists who know every building on Athletes Way — because we've been selling presale and resale condos here longer than most.

Why People Fall for Olympic Village

Olympic Village isn't a marketing label. It's a real neighbourhood built from the bones of the 2010 Winter Games Athletes' Village, now one of the most walkable and architecturally consistent pockets in Vancouver. Everything is intentional here.

Transit is built in. The Canada Line gets you downtown in one stop, YVR in about twenty-five minutes. It's one of the few Vancouver neighbourhoods where an investor, an end-user, and a retiree all want the same unit for different reasons.

Olympic Village or The Village on False Creek?

You’ll hear both, and they mean the same buildings around Athletes Way. Here’s where each name came from.

2010

Built for the Winter Games

Millennium Development Group built these buildings as the Athletes’ Village for the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. About 2,800 athletes and officials lived here during the Games. Once the Games ended, the homes went to their owners, and Olympic Village stayed as the neighbourhood’s name.

2011

Renamed The Village on False Creek

Millennium first sold the condos as Millennium Water. After the developer ran into financial trouble and the project went into receivership in late 2010, Rennie Marketing Systems relaunched sales in February 2011 under a new name: The Village on False Creek.

Today

Why everyone still says Olympic Village

The Canada Line station opened in August 2009 as Olympic Village Station, a name licensed from the International Olympic Committee, and locals never stopped using it. Officially the City calls the area Southeast False Creek, and on MLS® these homes are listed in the False Creek sub-area.

And why “False” Creek? Royal Navy surveyor Captain George Henry Richards named it while charting the coast in the mid-1800s. He thought he was travelling up a creek. It turned out to be a tidal inlet, so he called it False Creek.

Why Work With Us in Olympic Village

Here's the thing about Olympic Village — it was *built* as a presale neighbourhood. Every one of the seven main buildings launched as a presale before a single unit was owner-occupied. That matters, because most agents selling resales here never actually worked the presale side. We did.

One-bedrooms that sold in the past year went for an average of about 97% of their asking price, after about 59 days on the market. Part of the gap comes from building mix: most of this year's one-bedroom sales were at Compass, The Brook and Kayak, while most of the one-bedrooms for sale now are at Kayak, The Bridge and Sails. At Kayak and The Brook, which have both, asking prices are about 3% to 8% above recent sales. Shoreline and Canada House had no one-bedroom listings or sales in this period. Olympic Village Real Estate: Your Questions

Where exactly is Olympic Village?

It's the southeast corner of False Creek, bounded roughly by Cambie Street to the west, Main Street to the east, West 2nd Avenue to the south, and the water to the north. Building postal codes start with V5Y.

Are Olympic Village condos a good investment?

The neighbourhood has held up well relative to the broader Vancouver market because demand comes from three directions — end-users, downsizers, and investors — and supply is fixed.

Buying or Selling in Olympic Village?

We know this neighbourhood inside and out — from the presale launches that built it to the resale market that defines it today. Whether you are looking to buy your first False Creek home or list the one you've outgrown, we have the data and the strategy to get it done.

Olympic Village

Perhaps one of the largest transformations in the Lower Mainland since the 2010 Winter Games has been in Olympic Village.

A previous industrial hub, the area has since been revitalized to mixed use waterfront space. Condos built to house the athletes during the 2010 Winter Olympics are now some of Vancouver’s most coveted buildings, including Canada House, Shoreline, Brook, Bridge, Kayak, and Sails.
